The Greater Columbus family Photography Experience
You don’t need the perfect outfits, the perfect weather, or the perfect pose—what you do need is to remember how the snuggles and season of life felt. As a Columbus family photographer, I believe a session is so much more than just smiling at the camera. It’s about capturing the little things you might not even notice until they’re gone: the way your child lights up when they see you, the way tiny hands reach for yours, the way the kids light up with grandma and grandpa, the way your family fits together in this exact moment. Every family journey begins with a simple hello! The very first step is reaching out to me to discuss the portrait details and what you might be envisioning for your portrait session. No matter where you are located around the greater Columbus area, I would absolutely love to be there for you. Regardless if you are wanting a studio session for yourself, or an outdoor session for your immediate family or you are wanting to have a big reunion of your family outside at a great location. A paid session fee and signed booking form are required to secure your session. The session fee covers the time and talent of the Columbus Ohio family photographer, as well as full use of the studio, props, and client closet.
Outdoor family sessions take place at sunset. We will work together to find a day and time that works best for you.

Finally, all the prep, styling, and time you have put in to make this day happen is finally here! Your family session is all about connection, comfort, and creating space for genuine moments to unfold. From the first hello to the final gallery delivery, I’m here to make the process easy, relaxed, and meaningful. As your greater Columbus family photographer, I’ll guide you with gentle prompts—not stiff poses—so you can focus on loving your people while I capture the magic. Expect laughter, movement, snuggles, and maybe even a few happy tears. This isn’t just a photo shoot—it’s a memory in the making.
4. Portrait image reveal
You finally get to see all your hard work pay off. During your Columbus family reveal, you’ll see your gallery for the very first time—images filled with emotion, connection, and the little details that make your family beautifully yours. Make sure you invite the grandparents, you’ll get to relive those laughs, cuddles, and in-between moments that were captured with intention. From here, you’ll select the images that speak to your heart and choose how you’d love to preserve them—whether that’s through custom artwork, heirloom albums, or digital keepsakes. It’s more than just viewing photos—it’s about seeing your love, your story, and your legacy frozen in time.

Once your selections are made, each image is given a final, polished edit. Digital galleries are delivered within two weeks, while custom prints and heirloom albums may take up to three weeks to arrive. Every detail is thoughtfully handled to ensure your memories are beautifully preserve

We reached out to Bethany after looking through several portfolios of recommended photographers in the area. We asked her to capture some family photos for our business at our Farm. She was super flexible to work with our harvest dates and was incredibly accommodating to my very busy and active young boys! Her talent to capture the perfect golden light is unmatched! Whispy Shades was an amazing experience for both maternity and newborn photos. Bethany was extremely kind and professional, allowing me and my wife to choose the direction for each of our photo shoots while offering great advice and guidance as my wife and I did not have any ideas at first. We love our photos and had a great experience! Bethany was easy to work with and so patient with all the emails and questions I sent to her. Turn around time for photo delivery was as expected. Bethany did a great job capturing our vision and was very accommodating, as we live a good distance away. She offers wardrobe alongside hair/makeup (extra charge). Her hair/makeup person uses Mary Kay. When working with our baby, she was able to not only keep him calm, but also have his personality shine through. She is a baby whisperer! Everyone absolutely loved the photos. They were certainly hard to narrow down because we loved so many.
